Kaiser Chiefs work the crowd in LA

Kaiser Chiefs performed for a packed audience at the Henry Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles last night (June 7).

Frontman Ricky Wilson encouraged audience participation throughout the band's 80-minute set, asking the crowd to sing along, wave their arms and cheer.

The audience obliged, singing at top volume to crowd-pleasers including 'Ruby', and 'I Predict A Riot' and tossing glow-sticks in the air while the band performed songs off of their two albums, 2005's 'Employment' and this year's 'Yours Truly, Angry Mob'.

"That was some fine singing you did," Wilson told the audience after 'Modern Way'. "And they told me you wouldn't sing along."

The Leeds lads kicked off the night with a rousing rendition of 'Everyday I Love You Less And Less', while enthusiastic fans waved a Leeds United banner down in front.

Throughout the night, Wilson pogoed across the stage while an elaborate light show lit up the crowd.

They ended the gig with 'Everything Is Average Nowadays' before returning for a two-song encore that included 'The Angry Mob' and 'Oh My God', which gave the audience one final chance for a massive sing-along.

"The audiences are the most important thing about a gig and we try to make audiences enjoy it," Wilson told NME.COM.

"In any city like LA that thinks it's kind of cool, we have to work a little bit harder. But the challenge makes it more enjoyable for us."

Kaiser Chiefs will play two more dates in California before heading back to the UK to begin the festival circuit.
Shed Seven reform for Greatest Hits tour

Britpop band Shed Seven have announced that they are to reform for a one-off Greatest Hits tour this winter.

The band, who called it a day in 2003, will hit the road in November.

The line-up will include guitarist Paul Banks, who originally quit in 1999. The line-up will be completed by the other original members Rick Witter, Joe Johnson, Alan Leach and Tom Gladwin.

The band will be playing all their big hits, having scored 15 Top 40 hits between 1994 and 2003, including 'Going For Gold', 'Speakeasy' and 'Chasing Rainbows' .

Frontman Witter said of the reunion: "We have almost constantly been asked by the loyal Shed heads to reform for a few gigs since the split, but we felt we needed a well earned break. However, after four years we feel that going out for a two-week tour, playing all the hits without any outside pressure will be a great way to end 2007, plus having Paul back in the line-up for the first time in eight years will make it extra special. See you down the front."
Britney Spears apologises for umbrella rage

Britney Spears has apologised for her paparazzi incident that occurred earlier this year - which involved her attacking an SUV with an umbrella outside estranged husband Kevin Federline's house.

The incident occurred after the singer infamously shaved her head.

Writing to gossip website X17 in a handwritten note, she said: "I want to apologise for the past incident with the umbrella. I was preparing a character for a possible movie role where the husband doesn't play his part so they swap places.

"Unfortunately I didn't get the part, I'm sorry I got all carried away with my role! Britney."

Meanwhile as previously reported, the release date of the singer's new album has been pushed back to 2008.
