| Phil Spector trial: Day 8 Phil Spector's chauffer, Adriano DeSouza, took the stand in today (May 15) during the producer's murder trial in Los Angeles. Spector is accused of murdering actress Lana Clarkson on February 3, 2003 at his Los Angeles mansion. DeSouza drove Spector around on the night of Clarkson's death. He said that he took Spector out for a night of partying before taking the producer back to his mansion along with Clarkson. DeSouza remained outside in the car after the couple went inside. The driver told the LA County Grand Jury that at about 5:00 a.m. on Feb. 3, he heard what he described as a pop, and then saw Spector leaving the house holding a gun, reports the Los Angeles Times. "I think I killed somebody," he quoted Spector as saying. The defence is expected to challenge DeSouza's ability to hear anything that morning because of a noisy nearby fountain. During today's testimony, DeSouza said that he worked for the producer 13 or 14 times and earned approximately $30 an hour. Also testifying today was Sophia Holguin, a waitress at the House of Blues who served Spector on the morning of Feb. 3. She said that Spector asked her to go home with him, but she turned him down. She also said he appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. |
Beyonc? sued by Des'ree over song Beyonc? is being sued by singer Des'ree following allegations that she did not get permission from Des'ree to cover a song called 'I'm Kissing You'. TMZ says the suit, which was filed yesterday in New York, claims that a deal to use the song did not come to fruition, but Beyonc? went ahead and re-recorded the song and made a video. Des'ree, who is most famous for her 1994 hit 'You Gotta Be' is seeking to put a stop to the distribution of the song, video and Beyonc? solo album 'B'Day- Deluxe Edition' on which the song appears and is called 'Still In Love (Kissing You)' |
Marilyn Manson and Slayer announce double headlining tour Marilyn Manson and Slayer have announced a double-headlining tour, kicking off July 25 in Florida. Slayer's most recent release was 2006's 'Christ Illusion' while Manson is gearing up for the release of 'Eat Me, Drink Me' which is set for a June 5 release.
