Chemical Brothers bring Glastonbury to thunderous climax

Chemical Brothers brought the Other Stage to a rousing finale on the last night of Glastonbury Festival (June 24).

The Glastonbury veterans and former Pyramid Stage headliners returned to their spiritual home to round off the festival opposite The Who.

The veteran electro duo, who are back with sixth album 'We Are The Night', featuring guest appearances from Klaxons, Ali Love and Willy Mason.

While none of their wide range of guest-stars appeared onstage, they still brought along the vocals of New Order's Bernard Sumner, Bloc Party's Kele Okereke and Flaming Lips' Wayne Coyne electronically on 'Out Of Control', 'Believe' and 'The Golden Path' respectively.

Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons provided the muddy but jubilant Other Stage crowd with a thrill-packed show which married spectacular visuals to a set packed from the greatest hits, which cliaxed with 'Dig Your Own Hole' classic 'Elektrobank'.

The last people standing at Glastonbury are now heading to the wide range of parties dotted around the markets, the Green Fields and the Stone Circle.

NME.COM is now bringing you live coverage from this year's Glastonbury right up to the festival's end.
Lily Allen posts sick note online

Lily Allen has cancelled a handful of festival appearances this week because she's sick - and has posted her doctor's note online to prove it.

The singer has been advised to rest after suffering from sinusitis and strep throat and has been order to rest, forcing her to pull out of several European dates.

She wrote on her blog: "I've have literally been around the whole world in two weeks from London to Japan around Australia and then to LA and Vegas then back to LA for a 17 hour video shoot, and now I'm back in London eating my mum's chicken soup cause I'm afraid the travelling has caught up with me. I've got sinusitis and strep throat (I don't even know what that is) and have been advised to take a couple of weeks off by a doctor in LA and a doctor here."

However Allen got in ahead of anyone who might think she is putting it on by posting a photo of her holding her doctors note on the blog too.

"Before anyone starts trying to accuse me of neglecting my fans I want to apologise and say how sorry I am, but I cant risk causing any permanent damage," she explained. "I hope people can understand and aren't too angry."

The note can bee seen on her Myspace blog.

Meanwhile the following shows are off: Way Out West Festival (11), Sweden, Sagres (15), Portugal, and Lowlands Festival (17), Holland.

Her appearances at next weekend's V Festival (August 18-19) is current set to go ahead.
