Radiohead album web page is hoax
A web page claiming to be a countdown to the new Radiohead album has exposed itself as a hoax.
A clock on the page, at http://radioheadlp7.com/007788/lp7.cfm, had been counting down to 8am (BST) this morning. Information on the page claimed it had been taking readers to Radiohead's seventh album.
The band told NME.COM yesterday (September 28) it was a hoax, but fans were keen to see what would happen when the countdown ran out.
Well from 8am, anyone clicking on the page is taken to a new space which reads "The most gigantic lying hoax of all time", before diverting users to YouTube and the video for fallen 80s ginger popster Rick Astley with his track 'Never Gonna Give You Up'.
There have been days of coded messages on the band's official website and admissions that they have finished the album, which added plausability to the website and this morning's announcement.
Hopes have now been dashed by Rick Astley. |

In addition to their headlining tour, the Nashville four-piece will play a number of festivals this summer including Austin City Limits, Bonnaroo and Monolith. |
Busta Rhymes, Eve and Young Jeezy for RockCorps
Busta Rhymes, Young Jeezy and Eve are all confirmed to play for 3,000 volunteers at the Boost Mobile RockCorps next month.
Lil' Wayne and Rick Ross will also perform at the event taking place June 9 in Atlanta, GA.
Boost Mobile RockCorps is a national youth volunteerism movement that has helped more than 19,000 young people to get involved and help their communities. 3,000 local youth who have volunteered four hours of community service through BMRC earned tickets to the concert.
As previously reported here, Young Jeezy, whose real name is Jay Jenkins, was last week arrested following an incident at an Atlanta club.
The concert will take place at the Fox Theatre, Atlanta, GA. |
