Paul Woolford hosts Sankeys Halloween Party

Sankeys line up a spooky soiree in light of Halloween with a rather dapper fancy dress party!

There?s nothing better than rave in costume, reflected in the strong turnouts year after year as the Mancunians get dolled up and whack on their ghoulish attire. And it?s even more eventful this year with groove shamen Paul Woolford lining up alongside the oddball housers Freaks.

Woolford stands as one of the most innovative and leftfield of producers and djs working within house music. A resident at Back to Basics in Leeds and at We Love Sundays at Space, Ibiza, Woolford is equally respected as being part of the elite in both the production and Dj echelons he inhabits, a fully fledged member of electronic music?s aristocracy.

Joining him will be Luke Solomon?s Freaks outfit, a ragtag live group that manages to craft sonic performances out of electronica. Their shows infuse every aspect of house to an organic performance experience, dripping with sassy funk, off kilter grooves and strong vocals pushing their leftfield take on music. Still riding high on the basis of their sleeper hit 'Creeps?, still showing no signs of abetting nearly five years after it first came to prominence, they?ll be bringing a swagger to Sankeys.

Sankeys Saturday favourites Ellesse offer their support.
Two rappers arrested on similar charges

Lil Wayne and Ja Rule were arrested and charged with criminal possession of a weapon last night (July 22).

The two separate incidents occurred in New York following Lil Wayne's concert at the Beacon Theatre.

Outkast collaborator Lil Wayne, real name Dwayne Carter, was spotted smoking marijuana near a tour bus by police officers. A .40-caliber pistol was found on him after he was taken into custody, reports the Associated Press.

Meanwhile, Ja Rule, whose real name is Jeff Atkins, was arrested after he was pulled over by police officers for speeding. The officers found a .40-caliber gun on the Jay-Z collaborator and he was taken into custody.

Ja Rule and Little Wayne recently recorded a song together called 'Uh Oh'.
Black Rebel Motorcycle Club play Camden Crawl

Black Rebel Motorcycle Club played a headlining set tonight (April 19) at the first of their two Camden Crawl gigs.

Leading the way at the Underworld venue, the band who headlined the Astoria the night before squeezed into the tiny basement room for the Fallout Records hosted bash.

Coming onstage to chants of "Rebel, rebel", the band tore into a relentless, hard driving set that mixed live favourites with their forthcoming fourth album 'Baby 81'.

With the likes of 'Whatever Happened To My Rock N Roll (Punk Song)' and 'Stop' triggering a frenzy in the crowd, the band inspired wave upon wave of crowd surfers at the sweaty venue.

Having played new song 'Took Out A Loan' from practically the front row - almost having his bass accidentally kicked out of his hands by a stray foot belonging to an enthusiastic surfer - singer Robert Levon Been praised the audience's energy.

"You guys are the greatest fuckers, God bless you and maybe see you tomorrow," he declared, referencing the band's second appearance tomorrow (April 20).

Earlier The Cooper Temple Clause had been due to play ahead of the headliners, but blaming the old classic of "unforeseen circumstances" the band pulled their appearance and were replaced by DJs.

Meanwhile NME.COM will be back in Camden tomorrow (April 20) for the second day of this year's bash, so stay tuned for more.
