The Cribs collaborate with Modest Mouse man
The Cribs have enlisted the services of Modest Mouse percussionist Joe Plummer, Gary Jarman tells NME.COM.
Jarman, who is based in Portland, Oregon revealed that fellow Portland resident Plummer has added percussion to some acoustic material that Jarman has written for The Cribs.
He also revealed the band are set to play a secret show in Los Angeles next week, prior to their appearance at the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival where they will play on the same day as Kings of Leon, Arcade Fire and The Decemberists.
The band's third album 'Men's Needs, Women's Needs, Whatever' is set to be released this summer, and as previously reported here, was produced by Alex Kapranos of Franz Ferdinand. The album also features a guest appearance by Sonic Youth's Lee Ranaldo, who will also appear at Coachella albeit on a difference day which unfortunately scuppered The Cribs plans for a live collaboration.
"Sonic Youth are playing the night before" says Jarman "It's a shame we're not doing the same day, because we were going to ask Lee Ranaldo to do a song with us."
The Cribs play Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival on April 28.
