Lindsay Lohan broke

Lindsay Lohan is reportedly broke after spending her $7 million fortune on drugs and alcohol.

The troubled Hollywood star - who left Utah's Cirque Lodge rehab clinic earlier this month after a two-month stay - is staying with movie producer Tom Gores in Los Angeles because her money has run out.

Gores was the executive producer of the 21-year-old actress' recent flop film 'I Know Who Killed Me'.

A source told Britain's News of the World newspaper: "Lindsay doesn't have much choice as she is totally broke. The only reason she's coming back to Los Angeles is to try and get some film work and earn some money fast.

"The amount she has wasted putting cocaine up her nose is disgusting. Even she has lost count."

Lindsay's extravagant spending spree reportedly includes $1 million on just one hotel bill.

She has also spent more than $137,000 on three separate stints in rehab battling her drug and alcohol addictions, and thousands more in legal fees after her conviction for DUI (driving under the influence).
Lindsay is also thought to have blown more than $1 million on clothes and $500,000 on partying, with another $70,000 spent in tanning and hair salons.

She has been forced her to sell her $2.85 million apartment in Los Angeles and her $1 million New York property because she couldn't afford the mortgage payments.

Last week, Lindsay's father Michael claimed she planned to stay away from Hollywood to avoid temptation.

He said: "She told me, 'Dad, I don't feel ready to go back to Hollywood.' "That's how committed Lindsay is to her sobriety. She doesn't want to do anything to mess it up."
Courtney Love makes live return

Courtney Love performed four songs off her upcoming album 'Nobody's Daughter' at The House of Blues in Los Angeles last night (June 1).

Rather than performing a full set, Love came on as a "special guest" in the middle of a show by her collaborator and producer Linda Perry.

After Perry had played a short set of her own material, she joked that she'd happened upon a promising artist, saying: "She's got a cool name and a rock star thing going (on)."

Love then marched on stage in skinny black stretch pants, heels, a tight tank top, and loose black suspenders.

"Linda discovered me at Guitar Center because I'm such a genius on guitar," she joked before kicking off her set with the title track of 'Nobody's Daughter'.

With Perry featuring on Love's upcoming album as co-songwriter and co-producer, the former 4 Non Blondes singer also took on the role of co-frontwoman at the gig, singing along and strumming an acoustic guitar during Love's songs.

This allowed Love to leave the music to the backing band, which included a string section, and instead she concentrated on her vocals.

She clutched her mic stand and assumed expert rock star poses, headbanging a number of times and dropping to her knees. On her final song she reached out one hand to fans as she led them in a call and response.

James Blunt, who has also worked with Perry, watched the show from the balcony, although the likes of Rick Rubin and Gwyneth Paltrow who were on the guest list did not turn up.

After her final song, Love embraced Perry from behind, giving her collaborator's breasts an affectionate squeeze, before she made her way into the wings and watched as Perry wrapped up her show.
White Rabbits headline Club NME LA

White Rabbits performed with three drummers at Club NME Los Angeles with Fred Perry Subculture last night (June 13).

Playing several songs from their recent debut album, 'Fort Nightly', the clean-cut New Yorkers got Club NME-goers hopping with their complex dance-rock reminiscent of !!! and The Walkmen.

"We are thrilled we made it here in one piece -- the van broke down just 200 miles outside of LA, but the stars aligned and we made it," said drummer Jamie Adam Levinson.

The six-piece band ended their set with a rousing rendition of Bob Dylan's 'Maggie's Farm' that segued into their own song, 'Kid On My Shoulders'.

Club NME with Fred Perry takes place at Spaceland in the Silver Lake neighbourhood of Los Angeles every Wednesday night.

Next Wednesday (June 20), The New Year and David Bazan are set to headline Club NME LA with Fred Perry Subculture.
