| Magic Numbers second album gets US release date The Magic Numbers have announced the US release of their second album is scheduled for July. 'Those The Brokes', the follow-up to their self-titled debut, features a slightly different sequencing to the UK version, and has an additional track entitled 'Keep It In the Pocket'. The foursome have also announced a special show at New York's Hiro Ballroom on May 9. Recorded at Allaire Studios in Woodstock, NY and Olympic Studios in London, 'Those The Brokes' is released on July 3. Morrissey unable to reschedule US shows Morrissey has been unsuccessful in attempts to reschedule shows in several US cities following recent cancellations. The former Smiths frontman was forced to cancel shows in a number of east coast locations over the past few weeks due to a viral throat infection. He has managed to play rescheduled shows in Boston and Norfolk, and will hit Philadelphia (July 23) and Atlantic City (24) but other affected cities will not be re-visited this time around. Shows at New York's Madison Square Garden, Holmdel, NJ, Northampton, MA, New Jersey's PNC Bank Arts Center and Baltimore, MD are not available for the singer to play on this outing, and it is expected that another US leg will be added to the tour in the fall, in order to cover the cities. Morrissey will this week play shows in Knoxville,TN, Clearwater, FL, Boca Raton, FL and Orlando, FL. |
Radiohead say new album is 'nearly there' Radiohead have broken their silence today (June 13) in a internet posting to say their next album is nearly finished. The band have been working on the follow-up to 2003's 'Hail To The Thief' for over a year, and while they had been keeping a studio diary on their Dead Air Space site, things had gone quiet until recently. However in today's post guitarist Ed O'Brien has announced that the record is nearly ready. "A word from the studio," he wrote. "Yes I know its been a while ..... but we've been working on this album for a while ...... BUT WE ARE NEARLY THERE ....." No more details were forthcoming, though it has been rumoured the album could be released this autumn. |
