| Linkin Park join Live Earth line-up Linkin Park are to headline the Tokyo leg of the forthcoming Live Earth concerts. The global gigs, which take place across all seven continents on July 7, begin a one-year campaign, spearheaded by former US presidential candidate Al Gore, to promote climate change. As well as Tokyo, shows will take place Sydney, Shanghai, Johannesburg, London, Hamburg, Istanbul, Rio de Janeiro and New York. Linkin Park co-frontman Mike Shinoda told Undercover: "Climate crisis awareness could be one of the defining issues of our generation, and we're proud to play this show in support of that effort." The concert is expected to be viewed by two billion people, and is set to be the biggest music event ever undertaken. Bands confirmed to play the London event at the newly-reopened Wembley Stadium include Beastie Boys, Snow Patrol, Madonna and Razorlight. |
Queens Of The Stone Age Producer Readies Side Project Queens Of The Stone Age collaborator Chris Goss and Nine Inch Nails bassist Jeordie White aka Goon Moon are preparing for the release of their second album in May. 'Licker's Last Legs' is the follow-up to 205's 'I Got A Brand New Egg Layin' Machine' and is inspired by the current wave of folk such as Devendra Banhart and Joanna Newsom, as well as a more experimental sound inspired by the likes of Deerhoof. White (who was known as Twiggy Ramirez in his days as Marilyn Manson's bassist) and Goss actually wrote much of the music prior to the release of their debut, but just recently added vocals. Goss has been a long-time collaborator of Josh Homme, having produced three Kyuss records and most recently co-produced the new Queens Of The Stone Age disc 'Era Vulgaris'. Homme in turn, guests on the Goon Moon album. 'Licker's Last Legs' is released May 8. |
Creed frontman's charges reduced Charges of aggravated assault against Scott Stapp were reduced to a misdemeanor today (May 21) by a Florida judge. Ex-Creed frontman Stapp was arrested at his home in Palm Beach yesterday on charges of aggravated assault with intent to commit a felony. Police were called to the house after Stapp allegedly threw a bottle of Orangina at his wife's head. The bottle missed her head and broke. The bottle is was not considered a deadly weapon in this case, a fact that led to the charge reduction. Stapp and wife, Jaclyn Neshiwat a former Miss New York USA married last year. Upon Stapp's release he will be obliged to undergo random drug and alcohol tests. |
