| Mars Volta solo release Mars Volta composer/guitarist Omar Rodriguez Lopez has confirmed a date for the release of his solo project, The Omar Rodriguez Lopez Quintet. The record, titled The Apocalypse Side Of An Orange, was recorded in 2005 while Rodriguez Lopez was living in Amsterdam will be released November 20th 2007. The Quintet is made up of bassist Juan Alderete de la Pena, keyboardist Money Mark Ramos-Nishita, horn player/percussionist Adrian Terrazas Gonzales, and drummer/percussionist Marcel Rodriguez Lopez. The album will be released as a limited edition double-vinyl with seven new tracks. |
Thom Yorke, Maximo Park guest on Modeselektor album Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke and Maximo Park make guest appearances on Modeselektor's forthcoming album, 'Happy Birthday!'. The German electronica duo's follow-up to 2005's 'Hello Mum' is due out on September 11 in the US. It includes 17 tracks as well as a CD-only bonus track, 'I Can't Sleep (Without Music)', featuring Maximo Park. Yorke provides guest vocals on the album's penultimate track, 'The White Flash'. The album title was inspired by the fact that both Modeskeletor men, Gernot Bronsert and Sebastian Szary, are about to become fathers. |
Britney Spears' ex appears at custody hearing Britney Spears' ex-husband Kevin Federline appeared at a hearing about the custody of their two sons at a Los Angeles family law court today (October 3). Federline arrived surrounded by bodyguards, and wore a blue suit and a patch over his eye. He was seen conferring with his lawyers before the hearing got underway, reports the Associated Press. Spears, who temporarily lost custody of her sons to Federline earlier in the week, is petitioning to have custody returned to her. The pop star was reportedly not present when her ex-husband was sworn in. The hearing took place behind closed doors. Lawyers for both sides were present. |
