| Klaxons discuss NME cover shoot Klaxons have revealed that they were at risk of lions attacking during their recent photo shoot in the Californian desert for NME. Speaking to NME.com, James Righton told how the band were taken to a ranch with CSS, and were educated on how to react to an approaching lion. "Me and Jamie were quite drunk when the shoot occurred so our recollections are pretty misty. We got taken to this ranch and there was this big sign saying 'Beware, lions may attack'. And a sign saying 'If you come face to face with a lion, act like you're not scared by it. And if there's a small child by your side place them on your shoulders'." And Jamie Reynolds says that there was evidence all around them of possible danger: "There were loads of paw prints in the sand. It was good to see CSS again we hadn't seen them for a while so it was good meeting up again, it was a nice little reunion party." Josh Pyke debut single Australian troubadour Josh Pyke will release his debut single in the UK on May 7th 2007. Entitled Middle Of The Hill, it?s taken from his forthcoming debut album proper Memories And Dust, which will be released on May 21st. Memories And Dust recently entered the Australian album charts in the top 5. Josh Pyke has had a busy 2007 so far, having toured the UK twice ? once headlining and once in support of Scott Matthews ? and completed a successful weekly residency at London?s Luminaire. |
Download sales could exceed ?600m a year by 2012 Download sales for music and video in 2007 have reached over ?160m, more than ever before. This is an increase of over 45.5 per cent from 2006's total, while sales of physical releases have once again fallen. CD and DVD sales are down 2.9 per cent to ?4billion over this year. According to BBC News, proceeds from download sales are expected to reach ?600m a year by 2012. The news comes following Radiohead's monumental decision to offer their new album, 'In Rainbows', for free this week (October 10) at a price the customer chooses.
