Smile Smile Wins First Round Of Zig-Zag Live
The results are in for round one of Zig-Zag Live Contest and the Dallas duo Smile Smile have taken home the prize. Their catchy folk songs from their self-released debut has won them a prize package valued at over $14,000 that includes prominent exposure on www.cmj.com. Spoon announce massive world tour
Spoon have announced the dates of a massive tour that will take them around the world this summer and autumn.
The band are supporting their new album, 'Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga', which was released earlier this week in the UK and the US.
In addition to playing several dates in North America, they're set for shows in the UK, Sweden, Portugal and Norway. Australian dates are expected to be announced soon |
Arctic Monkeys storm Ibiza Rocks
Arctic Monkeys teamed up with allies Reverend And The Makers for an intimate show in Ibiza last night (September 1).
Sheffield's indie superstars played with close friend Jon McLure's band for the first time in over a year at the latest Ibiza Rocks with Sony Ericsson shows at the town's Bar M.
Playing their most intimate European show in months, the Monkeys played an hour-long, hit-packed set on the Balearic island in front of an audience that included Kaiser Chiefs singer Ricky Wilson, and DJs Norman Cook aka Fatboy Slim and Zane Lowe, who had both been DJing on the island's flagship club Manumission the previous night.
The Ibiza Rocks show also gave Alex Turner a chance to reunite with his housemate McLure. Gearing up for the release of their album 'The State Of Things', Reverend And The Makers they ran through a set featuring singles 'Heavyweight Champion Of The World' and 'He Said He Loved Me', alongside an ironically delivered '18-30'.
From the DJ booth, Zane Lowe tipped the band to return as headliners when Ibiza Rocks returns next year.
