Ex- Evanescence drummer releases statement

Former Evanescene drummer Rocky Gray has revealed how he has been served a gagging order by singer Amy Lee's management preventing him from discussing the reasons for his departure from the band.

As previously reported Gray and guitarist John LeCompt exited the band, with LeCompt saying: "There's absolutely no loyalty in this band."

Writing on his blog today (May 6) Gray posted: "Amy Lee's management emailed me last night to tell me that, in their view, the contract I signed to record, perform and tour with the group says I'm not allowed to have any free speech in regard to Evanescence.

"They way they spin it, I'm not even allowed to say I quit the group, I guess. But the news is out there, so, there ya' go. I need to have a lawyer read over all that mess to tell me what, when and how I can tell you all- the REAL FANS- what really went down, if I ever can, haha."

Despite suggestions that the band were in jeopardy a statement from Amy Lee says that the band will continue without them.

She said: "Evanescence is alive and well. John and Rocky were in Evanescence for four years and we shared some great times together playing live, but they were ready to move on and so we have parted ways. Evanescence is something I have loved and nurtured since I was fourteen, and I will continue to protect and fight for it as I always have.

"Terry, Tim and I are very excited to play live with some amazing new musicians and we will rock harder than ever. Stay tuned for more news on that front. And don't worry about the tour, guys. Nothing will be cancelled and we will see you soon!"

In 2003 Ben Moody left and in July 2006 bassist William Boyd exited the band.
Amy Winehouse to go 'back to work' for V Festival?

Amy Winehouse has vowed to go back to work this week after needing to go to hospital for a drugs over dose last Tuesday (August 7).

The singer who had her stomach pumped, has been recovering in a Hampshire hotel, where according to reports, her family have been speaking to her in an effort to get her to cut back.

Speaking to the News Of The World, Winehouse declared that she did not want a repeat of last week, which reportedly followed a three day bender.

"I never want to feel that way again," she said. "It was just crazy - one of the most terrifying moments of my life."

Although apparently rejecting suggestions she go into rehab - echoing the sentiment of her hit single 'Rehab' - Winehouse said she would change her behaviour.

"I've scared myself this time. I was all over the place. I know things have got to change," she said. "I have to sort myself out."

However the singer, who missed two European festivals because of the incident, however gave fans a positive sign that she should be fit enough to play next weekend's (August 18-19) V Festival declaring "I'm fine. I'll be back at work on Monday."
Exclusive: The Killers team up with Lou Reed on new track

The Killers have recruited Lou Reed to sing on a track set to appear on the Las Vegas band's forthcoming B-sides and rarities album.

Frontman Brandon Flowers exclusively told NME.COM that they've been hard at work in a New York studio this week recording 'Tranquilize' with 'Sam's Town' producers Flood and Alan Moulder.

"We were thrilled with being able to work with Lou Reed," Flowers said of the former Velvet Underground singer and rock elder statesman.

"The song was calling for a duet and his voice was just right. The sentiment of the song is very him," Flowers said.

Describing 'Tranquilize' as a "rollercoaster", he added, "There's a desperation to it. It's one of our more depressing songs, but there's always a light at the end of the tunnel."

Flowers explained that although the song will be part of a B-sides compilation, he believes it's one of the band's strongest tracks. "It's a song that really should've been on 'Sam's Town'," he said.

The compilation is due out before the end of the year, and will feature material that may be new to many US listeners. "A lot of our American fans may not even know about these songs because they're B-sides to singles in England," he said.

Flowers explained that the idea for the compilation was inspired by two of his favourite bands that did something similar.

"I'm a big fan of 'The Masterplan' by Oasis and 'Hatful Of Hollow' by The Smiths. It's for our fans who want the whole collection in one package."
